Project developer DimensieVier redevelops Heilig Hartkerk in Breda and rents out first rooms

On 8 May 2014, the agreements were signed by WoonZorg Nederland (seller) and DimensieVier (buyer/developer) for the Heilig Hartkerk, located at Baronielaan in Breda. This has started a sustainable development of both a transformation of the church to various functions and there will also be a residential area right next to the church on the grounds of the ROC practical school. For a long time, the neo-Gothic church of Van Genk, a National Monument, was threatened with nothing but demolition.

DimensieVier’s plan for the redevelopment of the church provides, among other things, for 575 m² fitness room for which a tenant has been contracted. Furthermore, there is 700 m² space for a restaurant that will be rented by Savelberg, 750 m² smaller office units and a meeting room for the neighbourhood. In the presbytery, 500 m² has been leased to the CompaNanny nursery.

A central green space with 40 apartments with sustainable energy management and care will be built on the site of the former practical school. Cars for both the church and the homes will be parked in an underground car park with 138 parking spaces. The entire area is energy neutral and the plan has a BREEAM NL score of 5 stars (outstanding).
