Suitsupply realises a new head office at the head of the Zuidas with a total of almost 24,000 m². It will be built on lot C2, the former car park between the Europaboulevard and the Gelrestraat right next to Motel One and opposite the newly built Nhow Amsterdam RAI hotel.
This is the first time that a fashion brand has taken the lead in the development of a head office in the Zuidas. Suitsupply bought the land from the municipality and works with a team of specialists to design the iconic building. Architect is the Danish Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG). In recent years, this architect has been working hard all over the world, designing, for example, the 400-metre-high Two World Trade Center in New York, one of the five skyscrapers of the new WTC complex, on behalf of Silverstein Properties. He also designed the new headquarters in Silicon Valley and the London office for Google. The municipality wanted a real eye-catcher for plot C2, because this place is one of the entrances to the city and this building is the first thing the motorist will see when he comes up from the South Tunnel.
Suitsupply and its head office are still located on the Wenckebachweg at Businesspark Overamstel, a few kilometres further along the A10. The fashion brand rents 8000 m² here and has grown out of its jacket due to the rapid expansion here. The new accommodation at the RAI complex will be 58 metres and 13 storeys high. In addition to 16,500 m² of office space, it also has a 1,000 m² shop, an equally large studio and a 1,500 m² coffeecorner and restaurant. There will also be an underground garage (3,500 m²) with over 80 parking spaces and a bicycle shed.
Appelhoven Vastgoedadviseurs assisted Suitsupply in the search for a new location and the commercial aspects of the new building development. “The cooperation with the real estate agent and the municipality in our many years of search for a new location has been excellent.” Says De Jong.
